SOLO PIANO
“Technically impressive, on occasion Bodurov gives the impression that he possesses more than the standard two hands. Yet he is no slave to flashy display.
The symmetry of jazz, folk and classical language of this compelling live document is totally natural.”

STAMPS FROM BULGARIA

SPECIALIS
In April 2009 at the opening of ppIANISSIMO Festival for contemporary piano music in Sofia Bulgaria, Dimitar presented his solo piano program ‘Specialis’.
This program is dedicated to the secrets of creation, love, self-reflection, communication. It is a journey without the safety belt. It is a borderline between composition and improvisation. It is control vs. freedom.
Based on a short monophonic serial piece, which I wrote per accident few years ago as an assignment for my composition study, It took a while before I decided to develop that idea further. This resulted as “Specialis” fluctuating composition with somewhat of a light motif.
